In this unit description of scattering and scheme of computation of cross section in quantum mechanics is introduced. This is achieved by imposing a suitable boundary condition on the solution of the time independent Schr\"{o}dinger equation and converting Schr\"{o}dinger equation into an integral equation using the Green function for the free particle Schr\"{o}dinger equation. A perturbative solution of the integral equation leads to the Born approximation for the scattering amplitude.
