The Biot Savart law for current carrying wire is explained.
The magnetic field due to a current element at a field point is given by \begin{eqnarray} \overrightarrow{dB} = \frac{\mu_0I}{4\pi}~ \frac{\overrightarrow{dl}\times\vec{R}}{R^3} \end{eqnarray} where $\overrightarrow{dl}=$ is a line element carrying a current \(I\) and $\overrightarrow{R}=$ is the radius vector drawn from line element $\overrightarrow{dl}$ to the field point.
