Help and Information --- About Lessons in Proofs Project

The Lessons have the following template.

  1. Objectives
  2. Recall and Discuss
  3. Sections  for Study
  4. End Notes
  5. References

Older content may not have the above structure.

Here is a sample lesson

A word about what I have tried to achieve while preparing the lessons.
  • This  particular lesson is meant for M.Sc. students who know Newtonian Mechanics only.
and have never studied the topics covered in the lesson.
  • The lesson objectives are stated in Sec 1 and should have been covered in the main sections..
  • The prerequisites should be adequately covered in the Sec. 2
[ "Recall and DIscuss"  ] in a sharply focussed manner.
  • All steps should be transparent. Using pen and paper to verify
any step should not be required.
  • In the last section on EndNotes I try to give references and suggest further
activities like watching a video. I make it sufficiently varied so that every one
( a teacher, someone who wants to refresh the topic, or a newbie and others)
    may find something interesting.
  • I also put in effort to make every lesson a "stand alone lesson" which can be read by itself.
There should be no need for the reader to go  to any other reference.
  •  I divide the whole matter into small small subsubsections. This is an attempt to serve two
    fold purposes.
    (a) The reader should remain focussed and understand every step.Or else should be able to identify
which part of the subject matter he/she has not understood.
    (b) At every stage the reader should remain connected: She/he should have no difficulty in identifying
    what is being done.
  • Please note that  a common  problem that a student has is to remain connected with the text;
i.e. to be able to keep track of what is being done in a lecture / a section of a write up.
