cm-ptr-02001 :: Generalized Coordinates
The generalized coordinates q= \(\{q_1,q_2,..., q_n\}\), along with their time derivatives,
\(\boldsymbol{\dot {q}}=\{\dot{q}_1,\dot{q}_2,..., \dot{q}_n\}\),
describe the state of the system at a given time completely with \(n\) degrees of freedom.
- The generalized coordinates are independent, there is no constraint between them.
- The position vectors of all the bodies can be expressed as functions of generalized coordinates.
