This is my first  Latex equation.

$x^2+y^3=5$

A fraction can be written as

$ \frac{a+b}{x+y}  Let me make a mistake.

Do not put dollar sign

Suppose we use  $$ \frac{a+b}{x^2+y^2}+ 5  $$ then the mathematical formula will  be displayed in a new line.
