### Typing mathematical expressions

Mathematical expressions can be inserted within HTML text of all content types (e.g., page, book page, blog, forum) edited using the available online WYSIWYG HTML editor. The mathematical expressions must be typed using the syntax of TeX/LaTeX.

The easiest way to start is to author a page with some LaTeX code for mathematical expressions given here (based on the code snippets from an online cookbook).

[For a more comprehensive documentation of TeX syntax, see this document.]

### Sample Content

Links to some content pages [[qtip:nodes|Content = Node|In the content management system used here (Drupal), every submitted edit-form creates a content Node with a unique node id (nid)]] are provided here to show supported content formats.

To see how the content creation forms look, use the drop-down menu - Content > Create.

### WYSIWYG+Math

The WYSIWYG HTML Editor lets you create visually formatted (HTML) content [without any knowledge of HTML) with the help of buttons in the top toolbar of the editing area.

This editor is available for editing all content types a member (a Blogger or an Author) can create/edit.

As a Guest (not logged in) user, you can still use all features except saving or inserting images/multi-media objects from personal workspace.

Mathematical expressions can be inserted within HTML text of all content types (e.g., page, book page, blog, forum. The mathematical expressions must be typed using the syntax of TeX/LaTeX.

### Toolbar

The toolbar buttons are similar to those you have seen in What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get (WYSIWYG) editors like MSWORD (in Windows) or OpenOffice (or LibreOffice) Writer (in LINUX).

### HTML Code

All content formatting information is converted into HTML code, which can be seen either by clicking the "Disable rich-text" link below the edit area, or by clicking "HTML" button in the toolbar.

If you know HTML, you can do some editing in HTML mode also to do more than the toolbar buttons do. However, you must be very careful in using HTML mode.

### Create New Drawing

This page has an embedded drawing tool - "SVG-edit". The drawings are reusable; they get saved in your workspace, and can be inserted in a page.

### Equation formatting and numbering

LaTeX has useful environments for multi-line equations, equation grouping, and alignment. Here are a few examples involving split, multiline, gather and align.

### Mathematical expressions

For creating/editing with mathematical expressions in it, you can use TeX/LaTeX syntax.

Here is a sample equation, which is Physics-wise much more complex than its type-setting!

$$\left [ - \frac{\hbar^2}{2 m} \frac{\partial^2}{\partial x^2} + V \right ] \Psi = i \hbar \frac{\partial}{\partial t} \Psi\nonumber$$
