Q/T : Where did you come across the state in Physics for the first time?

 

Thermodynamics.
Yes, in thermodynamics, you must have come across the concept of state function. Entropy is a state function and internal energy is a state function. What does state mean to you?
State function is something that depends on the initial and final state.

That is Correct. But my question is what do you understand by state?
Whatever we can measure is the state. For example, we can measure temperature and that is the state.
Let us be clear. Do you mean to say that temperature is the state? } Entropy is description of the state? Is that what you want to say?
